Membership Rate

As of 6/1/2022, membership rate is $80.00 for 1 year.
The term is for 2022 through 2023 which covers 6/1/2022 through 5/31/2023.
Membership does not auto-renew and is not prorated.

Seminar Fees & Location

Effective 10/1/2022, unless otherwise stated, seminar fees are:

  • $85 – Member Rate
  • $150 – Non-Member Rate

Seminar fees include registration, course materials (see Seminar Material below), continental breakfast, and refreshments. Lunch will be provided for 8-hour in-person seminars. Lunch is NOT provided to virtual attendees.
All Rhode Island Society of Public Accountants (RIAPA) seminars are held at Chelo’s in Warwick located at 2225 Post Road in Warwick, RI.

Seminar Times

Most seminars begin at 8:00AM and end at 12:00PM. Registration/Sign-in begins at 7:30AM.

Seminar Materials

Whenever possible and allowed by the presenters/speakers, seminar materials will be emailed to registered attendees as soon as they are made available but no later that 1 business day from the seminar date. Otherwise, seminar materials will be provided after the seminar via email to those who are in attendance. Please confirm your email at check-in.

Seminars are NOT recorded.

Unless otherwise stated or provided, RIAPA seminars are IN-PERSON.

Discount applies to Society members. Listed prices reflect the discount. Non-members choose the non-member fee.

If We Cancel a Seminar

A seminar may be canceled if the minimum number of required attendees is not obtained. You may elect to receive a full refund of the cancelled seminar fee or transfer it to a future seminar (not applicable for Gear Up). Please see CPE Disclaimer below.
Your early registration is appreciated and helps to avoid seminar cancellations; please note the registration deadline on your seminar forms.

If You Cancel or Transfer a Seminar

Cancellations/transfers require 3 (THREE) business days prior to the seminar date. No refunds or attendance changes/modifications will be allowed after the registration deadline date listed on the registration form or otherwise stated on the Seminar Page of this site. Cancellations/transfers must be received by 3pm – 3 (THREE) business days prior to the seminar date. No-Show registrants are not eligible for any refund of seminar fees.

Walk-in Registrations

Walk-in registrations are accepted provided seating space is available. The seminar fee must be paid in full on the day of seminar.

Cell Phones

Cell phones must be set to silent mode during seminar hours. Please refrain from cell phone use during the seminar. There are no public phones or charging stations at the venue.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is allowed outside of the seminar venue.

CPE Regulations – CPAs & Public Accountants

The Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation – Board of Accountancy is responsible for the administration of the licensing of certified public accountants & public accountants, including the processing of applications and fees, the issuance of licenses, certificates and permits to regulated businesses, occupations and professions.

RI CPAs must obtain 120 hours every three (3) years, six of which must be on ethics, and limited to 60 hours of self-studies.

CPE Regulations – Enrolled Agents

Enrolled agents must obtain 72 hours of continuing education every three (3) years. A minimum of 16 hours must be earned per year, two of which must be on ethics. Enrolled agents must use an IRS approved CE provider, such as the RIAPA. Unlike CPAs who report there CPEs to the state board of accountancy, EAs report their CPEs to the IRS.

RIAPA reserves the right to make changes to prices, dates, locations, and speakers at any time without notice and to cancel a course because of an insufficient number of registrations.  Participants should visit the website frequently in the event it becomes necessary to cancel or reschedule a course as the website is a reliable source for the most up-to-date information on seminars and other RIAPA news.  Participants may request a refund or credit towards a future seminar (not applicable towards GearUp) should an event be cancelled or rescheduled and the participant is no longer available to attend; requests are not permitted 10 business days after the event (cancelled or otherwise rescheduled). RIAPA does not assume financial responsibility for penalties or expenses incurred by registrants for ANY reason.

Special Notes

Most meeting rooms vary in temperature throughout the date. While the Society makes every effort to maintain a comfortable room temperature, it is best to plan for variation of room temperatures. Please, dress in layers.
